Fluor provided complete turnkey engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning services for this net 620 MW combined-cycle electric generation facility located in Washington County, Ohio.
The combined-cycle facility was owned and operated by Duke Energy North America and was connected via a new switchyard to the 345 kV transmission system. The plant used Muskigum River water as a makeup source for its cooling tower and was fueled by natural gas.
Major equipment included two General Electric model PG7241 FA combustion turbine generators (160 MW each), two heat recovery steam generators, and one General Electric condensing steam turbine generator(300 MW). In addition to dry low NOX combustors for turbine exhaust emission control, a Selective Catalytic Reduction system was installed to reduce NOX emissions. Mechanical chilling for inlet air cooling was installed for power augmentation.
